This tutorial is designed for anyone who is interested in the interoperability of HDF5 with the netCDF-4.
NetCDF-4 is built on top of HDF5 according to the netCDF data model. The restrictions set by the model require adjustments to a general HDF5 file in order it to be accessible by the netCDF-4 based applications.
In this tutorial, we will share our experience of making NPP and HDF-EOS5 products accessed by netCDF-4 through the augmentation of the original HDF5 files. We will also discuss the steps taken by the HDF5 and netCDF-4 developers to mitigate the issue.
