Call for Abstracts
NASA and The HDF Group invite you to the HDF and HDF-EOS Workshop for 2009. Please join us for a 3-day workshop to assist users of satellite observations of the Earth and related applications to explore the power of HDF and HDF-EOS. This year's presentations, tutorials, and user forum will focus on identifying and supporting up-and-coming technologies and enhancing HDF support with existing technologies.
Bring us your ideas, needs, successes, and challenges.
The workshop will be at the Raytheon Systems Company's Riverdale facility and will consist of presentations, discussions, tutorials and demonstrations of tools. Please visit our web site: http://www.hdfeos.org/workshops/ws13/workshop_thirteen.php and take a look at some of the abstracts that have been submitted thus far. Suggestions for topics that you'd like to see on the agenda can also be contributed and are welcomed.
Our theme this year is:
- Closing the Gap - Harnessing the Power of HDF Through Established Technologies
Presentation Submission
The workshop will provide for three types of presentations:
- Presentations - 15-20 minutes
- Lightning Talks - 5 minute limit
- Posters
Suggested Topic Areas
- Integration of HDF with established or up-and-coming technologies
- Enhancing HDF support with existing technologies
- Program status reports
- Development plans -- new features
- Heritage (HDF) to HDF5 migration; archival issues
- HDF and other standards (e.g., netCDF)
- Tools, utilities (description or demonstration)
- Earth science data applications
What are Lightning Talks
Lightning talks are a way to present a short amount of information related to the suggested topic areas or can be used to introduce your poster. Some suggestions are, do you have a question to pose or are you looking for comments on a new approach to a problem? Do you want to brag about a recent accomplishment or lesson learned? If your answer is yes, consider submitting a lightning talk!
